FAQ’s

Q: Why are your bones beneficial for my dog's mental well-being?

A: The act of chewing in dogs releases endorphins, known as "feel-good" hormones, which create a calming effect in the brain - similar to what humans experience during exercise. This helps alleviate stress and anxiety levels in your dog, satisfying their innate need to chew and preventing destructive behaviors.

Q: What nutritional benefits do your bones offer?

A: Bone marrow, considered a superfood, is rich in essential nutrients such as Vitamins A, B2, B12, and E, as well as minerals like calcium, iron and zinc. The marrow and cartilage present in our bones are excellent sources of collagen, promoting healthier skin and coat. Our small batch, low and slow smoking process ensures the maximum amount of marrow remains inside the bone.

Q: What is in your bones?

A: Our bones are single ingredient and all natural, sourced from USA cattle. We don’t add anything to our bones, ever. No preservatives, flavorings or dyes.

Q: How do your bones benefit my dog's dental health?

A: Chewing on our bones helps your dog combat plaque buildup, preventing tartar formation and promoting better dental hygiene. Regular chewing can contribute to healthier teeth and gums for your pup.

Q: How do I store my bones to maintain freshness and quality?

A: To preserve the freshness and quality of our bones, store them at room temperature in a breathable material such as the cotton mesh bag they come in, a brown paper bag or similar. Storing your bones in an airtight container at room temperature can trap moisture and promote mold growth. However, if you choose to freeze your bone, it should then be stored in an airtight container.

Q: Are there any precautions I should take when giving bones to my dog?

A: We thoroughly inspect our bones for defects and slow smoke them for over 24 hours at low temperature to preserve their natural resiliency. We also exclusively sell center cut beef femur bones, which is the thickest and most durable cut. Despite this, bones are a natural product and it is possible for them to crack or splinter as they wear down. Regular inspection of your dog’s bone is recommended. Also, please select a bone size that is appropriate for your dog. Refer to our size guidelines on the shopping page.

Q: Can I eat your bones or use them in cooking?

A: We do use human grade beef marrow bones from USDA inspected cattle, but as delicious as our bones look and smell, our products are not FDA approved for human consumption.

Q: Do you offer a guarantee?

A: We stand behind our products. If you ever have any issues, concerns or are not completely satisfied, please reach out to us so we can make it right.
