Q: How do I store my bones to maintain freshness and quality?

A: To preserve the freshness and quality of our bones, store them at room temperature in a breathable material such as the cotton mesh bag they come in, a brown paper bag or similar. Storing your bones in an airtight container at room temperature can trap moisture and promote mold growth. However, if you choose to freeze your bone, it should then be stored in an airtight container.

Q: Are there any precautions I should take when giving bones to my dog?

A: We thoroughly inspect our bones for defects and slow smoke them for over 24 hours at low temperature to preserve their natural resiliency. We also exclusively sell center cut beef femur bones, which is the thickest and most durable cut. Despite this, bones are a natural product and it is possible for them to crack or splinter as they wear down. Regular inspection of your dog’s bone is recommended. A: We do use human grade beef marrow bones from USDA inspected cattle, but as delicious as our bones look and smell, our products are not FDA approved for human consumption.
